Heeling Games!

Posted by dfenzi in Lyra

Heeling games are simply fun ways to practice your heeling.  Basic heeling games involve some kind of movement – either vertical, horizontal or some type of trick behavior.  More advanced heeling games are a compilation of movement, patterns, surprises, opposition reflex, incorporating toys and many other skills.

Heeling is my passion.  I’m willing to take years to mold the picture I want, because beautiful and engaged heeling holds so much value for me.    Today’s blog is to show you a video of what I think heeling games look like, and how I incorporate them into my work.  I’m proud of Team Lyra; we’ve come so far together since we started!

If you watch the video to the end, you’ll see one of my primary goals - a dog who doesn't want to quit!

If you’d like to develop your heeling games, or if you simply want to increase your repertoire of heeling options, check out the class I’m teaching at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy titled.... OB300 Heeling Games!

http://www.fenzidogsportsacademy.com/index.php/courses/index.php/courses/14

Class starts on June 1st and officially runs for six weeks. You’ll have access to the forums, students video submissions and my comments for six weeks, and to lecture and video materials 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for a full year.  There is still room to sign up for a silver level spot ($130) so you can ask me questions about your situation, or a bronze level spot ($65) if you’d like to watch without any interaction or feedback.  Silver level spots do have a prerequisite class, but the bronze level does not.

Since money should not be a barrier to education, please ask for a scholarship though the scholarship link if you need one – that will reduce your bronze level tuition to $32.50, and I am truly delighted to give them to anyone who needs a little help.

While you’re over there, check out the other courses offered this June as well as our lineup for August – we’re growing!

I hope to see many of you there.  This topic is one of my passions and I’m excited to get started!

I am also signed up for the class! I started my training career 5 years ago with the question “What’s a heel?” – that was in CGC class, my very first. Over the last few years, I have been exposed to very serious trainers, classes that were beyond tedious, and now, finally, one that seeks to preserve the joy in my sport. I have come to believe that the excitment that Lyra shows is our goal – and all of our training needs to highlight the love, fun, and joy of our chose sport. Now, to learn how to do that! I am so looking forward to this!
